The Tingle Stone

Today we decided to go on a hunt for the 'Tingle Stone' which is somewhere between Avening and MinchinHampton. We had a bit of trouble finding it, and were told by locals that there are lot's of these tingle stones in the area, and we eventually got directions to this one.

The old lady who gave us directions said that the stone is magic and if you pass your baby through one of the holes, it won't get rickets! I love old stories like that, she was cute.

It's a really beautiful setting and lovely stone, but sadly no tingles were felt - if indeed that is what is meant by it's title!
